Puerto Vallarta Art Walk: Photo Re-cap

Puerto Vallarta is such a beautiful city full of culture, lovely scenery and great food!

My first visit to P.V. was last year in November, and I picked the right time to travel because the city was in the midst of Puerto Vallarta Art Walk. The  P.V. Art Walk was taking place for a week, and there were lots of art galleries open, art vendors on the street and beautiful art created with elements in nature, such as beach sand to create statues, figures, etc.

Here is an example of one of the sand sculptures created:

The artist below is using these micro beads, wax and a sewing technique to create the suns below:

A beautiful sun:

Tons, and tons of crosses:

I loved the various mediums used in the pictures below:

I loved the abalone incorporated into this piece below:

This brass sun was one of my favorites, and if I could afford it, I would have bought it:

Frida Kahlo art:

The colors are so brilliant:

Art made with glass, paint and oils:

Love written in the sand with rocks:

Sidewalk art created using chalk:

Puerto Vallarta, Puerto are missed and on my list of places to re-visit.

Nail Art: Quickie

One of my best friend's stopped by t.h.e. Nail Studio recently for a nail art "quickie", meaning nails in a hurry!

This is what she left with....

Fashion Editorial: Inspiration

"The Collections" editorial photographed by Norbert Schoerner is FULL of amazing clothes from designers like Prada, Versace, Miu Miu, etc

Fashion Editorial: Inspiration

The title of this fashion editorial says it all: "Urban-chic Punk"

I will admit that i'm in love with her hair color and her green mascara.  The layering of the green and orange tones in her hair really compliment each other and bring out the boldness and color of her green mascara.  I'm sure my mother is thanking the heavens above that I have curly hair, or else you may see me roaming the streets with hair similar to this....I love it!

A Rose Is Still A Rose....

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
-Albert Einstein

I photographed these beautiful roses recently:

I am often caught in a stare when it comes to the beauty and mystery of nature.  Isn't it perplexing how a rose grows from the planting of a seed with the assistance of sunlight and water, plus a little t.l.c.? The rose grows, provides oxygen for us to breathe and feeds others....just amazing.

When is the last time you stopped what you were doing and took a few minutes out of your day to appreciate nature and your surroundings?  I encourage you to do so today.

"We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls."
- Mother Teresa

Dear God....

Please help me to learn from my mistakes this past year, but not to dwell on them.

Please help me not rest on my accomplishments in this past year, but use them to further your work in me and through me.

Please help me not quarrel with those who injured me yesterday, last month, or this past year.

Instead, O Father, lead me in your paths and help me see your mighty works this next year.

In Jesus' name and by his power I ask it.

Holiday Glam Nails Re-cap

First things first - I hope everyone had a wonderful and happy Christmas! Christmas holds so much meaning for so many different people, whatever you believe in, or whatever it means to you, I just hope you were happy.

I made sure to rejoice in the birth of Jesus, as well as do nothing.....ALL.....DAY....LONG.  I chilled out with family the entire day, eating, chatting, watching sports, being festive, etc.  Good, good times.

As you already know, t.h.e. Nail Studio opened it's doors last weekend for the Glam Nails event, and I must say that it was a hit!

Both days were busy [not to mention fun!], and I want to send a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out and allowed t.h.e. Nail Studio and myself to pamper those precious hands and feet.

Here are a few photos of our happy customers and their beautiful nails!

I'm still waiting for more photos from my friend Brandon, aka EazeeSt.  He took some pretty cool shots, so I hope to get those soon so that I may share them with you.

We're re-opening the salon December 31st!
More details coming after this post!
